At first, we had no idea what to expect ... Although we're known for playing tracks like "Carry The Sun" in our DJ mixes, we didn't know what the nexus between our style and The Glitch Mob's would sound like.
After hearing the results of working on this track for the past week, I can say that we'll be producing more flips from The Glitch Mob. The result between our two styles is a very fresh take on Glitch Hop and Drum N' Bass. To me, this is reminiscent of the days of that hyphy Lazer Bass sound, mixed up with some new school Rezz midtempo, and a large dash of mystical chords.
My favorite part of this remix has got to be the orchestral strings. We took the original chord structure and spiced it up a bit with some diminished, sustained, and even major 9th chords. Really gives the song a unique, almost classical vibe.
This is making me want to go back and finish a "Drive It Like You Stole It" Remix that we made as one of our first collabs as a duo back in the summer of 2010. Seeing The Glitch Mob over and over throughout those early years of EDM was very inspiring to us.
The first time I saw them was at Lollapalooza in 2009, and almost immediately after that I went and purchased two JazzMutant Lemurs (the original touchscreen pre-iPad), got Ableton and started producing dance music.
