10 years ago I attended Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) for the first time and it changed my life completely. I had just finished my sophomore year of college and was a bit lost and confused about what I wanted to do with my life.
Some people who were very close to me, hurt me deeply. I was going through a very rough patch in life. I ended up planning an impromptu journey to Los Angeles with a couple of casual friends. We were going to road trip out to LA and go to the coolest party ever. The only problem was that the morning we were leaving, somebody overslept and I ended up having to leave without him.
We stopped at the gas station and as I was filling up, Monsoon pulled up by himself in his own car. We had met a couple of times before but didn’t really know each other all that well. He said he was about to leave for EDC and I told him that we were on our way there and that we had an extra seat in my car.
He jumped in the backseat of my car and the rest is history! We became best friends from that point on. EDC weekend was the most unbelievable experience of my life. I felt alive. I wanted to figure out a way that I could feel that alive all the time. I fell in love with rave music and rave culture. It was at that moment that I decided to dedicate my life to my career as a creative professional.
The most amazing things have manifested to me through music and raving. Most of the people I care about most are all people I met through music. I even asked the love of my life, Brooke Allison, to be my girlfriend at EDC Vegas in 2017!
EDC will always hold a special place in my heart
