Many of you that know me now, may not realize that snowboarding was my biggest passion before music.
At one point in time, I used to snowboard 4/5 days a week. Whether it was sliding a handrail at a local elementary school, or heading up to Echo Mountain when I got out of class or making the trek all the way up to Summit County ... I was non-stop on my board. Even in the summer lol 😂 My mom would come home and find me in full snowboard gear, strapped into my board, hopping all around the living with some video on in the background 🤷🏽♂️
The funny thing about where my life is now is the fact that this passion is what started to cultivate my creative talents. I was constantly watching artistic snowboard videos, which is where my passion for film definitely started. In addition to that, I was ALWAYS trying to find new music as well. A lot of times I was downloading the songs from my favorite video parts, so I could listen to them all day on the mountain. This only got more intense once I got a car. I was always the friend that drove everywhere ... AND I had 2 15 inch subwoofers in my Jeep ... so I was a fiend for the freshest music to show off in my whip. So my love for snowboarding is what developed my ability/love for music and being a DJ.
Today, I took a moment to really digest the last 10-15 years of my life and how it has really come full circle.
I made the decision to not pursue a career in the snowboard industry and went to college in Arizona instead. At the time, that decision was gut-wrenching. I missed the snow so much, but ultimately it led me down the path to being a professional musician.
It was really cool spending the day doing what I love to do while listening to music and wearing the clothes that I MADE with my best friend Monsoon & Brooke. Whoa! Super surreal right!?
I really hope that you are having a great end to this year and ultimately this decade! ✌🏽😎🖤🎶🏂
